Recycling technologies for construction and demolition waste

REMEX develops and implements high-performance processing solutions and recycling plants for soil and construction and demolition waste (CDW). Our approach is based on a concept in which individual process steps can be tailored to the material streams to be treated – for versatile recycled construction materials and efficient recovery of mineral and metallic resources.

The quality of the recycled minerals produced is largely determined by the composition of the input material and the combination of processing technologies used. Depending on material properties, quality requirements and the required capacity, we design customised plants to enable cost-effective and resource-efficient material cycles.

Expert plant design and operation

At the heart of the plant design lies the selection of the individual technologies, complemented by digital control systems and continuous quality checks. The combination of screening, crushing, separation and cleaning processes results in high-performance processing solutions for the recovery of valuable raw materials.

Recycling made in Germany

With every new generation of recycling plants, REMEX implements state-of-the-art technology on a large scale. Key advancements in the processing of construction waste, soil and road rubble include high performance – as reflected in factors such as the types of materials that can be processed, edge lengths, crushing capacity and throughput – as well as the automation and digital control of the entire plant.

Components for efficient construction material recycling

The technological solutions for processing construction and demolition waste are based on a multi-stage process concept. The individual process steps must be interlinked to ensure a continuous flow of material. Individual components can be used in multiple stages – from screening to air classification.

Material classification
The classification of the feed material forms the basis for all other processes. Through pre-screening and post-screening, the material flow is separated into defined particle sizes and optimally prepared for the subsequent processing stages.eitet.

Crushing
Depending on the composition of the material, the oversized particles are broken down in the crusher to the desired particle size. Multi-stage crushing and screening processes enable the efficient processing of a wide variety of mineral material streams.

Metal separation
Magnetic separators reliably remove ferrous metals from the material stream, enabling them to be recycled. Depending on the plant design, further separation processes can be incorporated to recover additional metal materials.

Material cleaning
Light impurities such as wood, plastics or paper are removed from the material stream using wind sifting and other air-based separation technologies. This improves the quality of the mineral fractions and creates the conditions for high-quality recycled aggregates.

Production of high-quality recycled aggregates
The coordinated interaction of all process stages results in recycled building materials with defined particle sizes and reproducible material properties. The high-quality processing of mineral material streams helps to conserve natural resources and establish effective material cycles within the construction industry.
